What is Reiki?

Hello, I'm Josée Bélanger.

In this time, I would like to introduce Reiki to you all.

Reiki is an alternative healing practice that has gained popularity in recent years. It is based on the belief that a universal life force energy flows through all living things and can be harnessed by a practitioner to promote healing and well-being. In this article, we will explore the basics of Reiki, its origins, and how it works.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word that means "universal life force energy." It is a holistic healing practice that involves the channeling of this energy through a practitioner's hands to promote healing and relaxation. The energy is said to flow through the practitioner's hands into the body of the recipient, balancing their energy and promoting a sense of calm and well-being.

Origins of Reiki:

Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by a Japanese Buddhist named Mikao Usui. He developed the practice after a period of meditation and fasting on Mount Kurama. Usui believed that he had received a spiritual revelation that gave him the ability to heal with his hands. He spent the rest of his life teaching and practicing Reiki.

How Reiki works:

Reiki is based on the idea that all living things are made up of energy, and that this energy can become blocked or imbalanced, leading to physical or emotional problems. The Reiki practitioner uses their hands to channel the universal life force energy into the body of the recipient, removing any blockages and restoring balance.

During a Reiki session, the recipient lies down fully clothed, and the practitioner places their hands on or near the body. The practitioner then channels the energy through their hands, focusing on areas that need healing or balancing. The recipient may feel warmth, tingling, or a sense of deep relaxation during the session.

Benefits of Reiki:

Reiki is said to have a wide range of benefits, including:

-Reduced stress and anxiety

-Improved sleep

-Relief from pain and physical ailments

-Increased sense of well-being

-Enhanced spiritual growth
